To make a long story short, my cat, Bert, got pounced on the back by a neighbors cat as he was trying to get inside the house. About a week later there was a noticeable absess (sp?) on his back that looked like it might have just popped. He got taken to an emergency vet on July 3rd and they shaved the area and cleaned it up and gave him some shots. Well, some time later, it looked to be infected so he went back the the vet a few times with a temperture now and got some more shots. Today he had to go back for a checkup and 2 more shots. Now, there is a blue ring around his wound and we dont' know what it is? Anyone have an idea??? Here's a pic.

Sorry I don't know what the blue is...maybe a bruise?

I just want to say...poor kitty :( , I hope Bert gets better soon!

Two of my parent's cats recently had the exact same thing happen - bites on their hind ends, that ended up infected and then abcessed.....
I'm wondering if it could be the infection? Like, you know if you have a cut, it gets a little red around it?
Really, I'm thinking a bruise, but I was just trying to think of anything else it might be.......
