Help...cat has a 'problem'

1413 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Bengalsownme
The cat I just adopted has some sort of gastrointestinal problem. Straight to the point, his poop smells incredibly horrible. It's so bad I have a hard time changing his litter. He also goes a lot more than an 8 pound cat should, I think?

The vet initially gave us some oral medication to clear up a diahhrea problem (worked) but it's still horrible smelling. Any ideas?

PS...this is not a joke. It's a serious question.

Two ideas for you. One, you could invest in one of those automatic litter boxes. It's a hard plastic box with an electric rake that is triggered 10 minutes after kitty does his business and it drags the clumped waste into a plastic container and resets itself. Idea two, air fresheners and popery. Plug your nose until your cat is better. Have you talk to your vet about this? Maybe some of the other members have some ideas for you. Good luck and happy litter changing!
