Good morning, I found your forum this morning while at work and I have a feeling it will be a wealth of information for me.

Here is my problem/question.

I have 6 cats. 4 are mine and two are my exes that she abandoned. At the old house I lived in someone became accustomed to improper elimation...urination on the floor and on the couches and sometimes feces. I just moved into a new place and bought all new litter boxes, sprayed feliway on the new couches, etc. I have found one defecation on the floor in the two days they have been there. The feliway seems to have calmed them as they are not scratching on furniture yet, etc. But i could really use any and all advice on how to prevent and maintain them from any elimation on the floor, etc.

Suggestions?

all are fixed and I have 4 males and 2 females.

Thank you for all information in advance, i appreciate it

Hi, and welcome to CF!
First, do all of the cats get along and like each other? Sometimes, there can be a bully-cat who dislikes one or more cats and will be aggressive about 'controlling the movements' of those cats...by keeping them away from desireable lounging spots, food and even the litterboxes.
Best bet for few elimination problems is to keep litterboxes scooped of waste daily. Have litterboxes that are very large (jumbo) in size. Have 1 more litterbox than you have cats and keep the litterboxes in 2-3 different locations so every cat can be assured of access to them.
Clean up any accidents with an enzymatic cleaner, really soaking the area and allowing it to air dry. As the liquid dries the enzymes break down the odor causing organic material.

Good luck!
