I am the proud unfurry person of LuLuKitten (sometimes she goes by LuLu, but mostly by Kitten). She is a 2 1/2 year old Tonkinese.

What I would like to know is this: why does she lick the bottom of my nose and bite my chin in the morning when I am in bed? And why does she always run in front of me and roll over on her back and look at me with her big eyes and meow? What's up with that?

She's a great cat, and I wouldn't change her for the world. My concern is that she's not microchipped. And even if she did get out (of my building, as I live in an apartment), someone would just keep her anyway because she's so friendly. She got out the other day and scared me to death (it was the first time—she snuck out between my legs). I have tried to keep a collar on her, but she protests. All I know is that my building is secure now, but I'm not going to live here forever. So any suggestions are welcome. :)

Thanks

Welcome!

The licking? Normal.

And parking her butt in front of you while you're trying to walk? She's being adorable and proving that you have to stop and pet and adore her before you can get on with your life. Or reach the bathroom.

Here's a link for microchipping in San Diego, not sure how "Southern California" you are:

County of San Diego - Animal Services

The next day is Thursday, May 24th, from 1-3 p.m. $20 - includes registration. That's where I got my girls chipped.

You should get her chipped. There are lots of kind people who would recognize her as a runaway pet and would take her to a vet or clinic to find her owner.
