I've recently moved to a beautiful remote farmhouse in the Scottish Borders and considering getting a pure bred Main Coon cat for company and was worried that a Main Coon being the size it is may attack and kills a sheep, especially lambs at lambing time, plus I'd appreciate advice on keeping and looking after a Main Coon if I were to get one.

By the way, hello, I'm Holmey ?

I'm not sure how big you think Maine Coons (the "gentle giant" of cats) grow to be, I mean, they are on the large size, but that's just more to love. They're one of the most loving breed of cats who are known to be wonderful around children and generally get along with dogs, too. They don't require anything different than any other cat, other than eating more cat food. They can weigh up to 25 lbs., but that's the high end. Attacking sheep or lambs? It sounds more like a science fiction movie than real life. Maine Coon-nado?:)

A Maine Coon would be a wonderful addition to your family.
