Hi:

Does anyone have experience with feline high blood pressure. My 13 yr. old is walkiing like she's drunk and losing her balance. All her blood work is normal. She is on thyroid medication (tapazole) 2X a day, but other than that she is healthy. One vet suggested I have her pressure checked. I'm curious to others experience with high blood pressure in their cats. Any information is appreciated.

It's very common in older cats, especially with thyroid and kidney disease. In any case, with those symptoms, she should be checked right away by your vet!

Had her checked

I did have "Angel" checked for high blood pressure and it was normal. We still don't know why she's staggering. She's eating and drinking and acting her normal self. Since I don't have thousands of dollars to invest in sophisticated testing I'll just play it by ear and as long as she doesn't do any worse, I'll just continue to take the best care possible of her and hope for the best.
