Ok, so I'm having a dilemma. I adopted Mistletoe on Saturday so I've had her around a week. The first night, she loved my husband but he works two jobs so he hasn't been around alot this week. I'm on vacation so I've been home all day with her. She is totally bonding with me but now she's spooked by my husband. He plays with her as soon as he gets home. I feel so bad because I know that he wants her to cuddle with him soooo badly. He's not pushing her since that would totally back fire but I feel so guilty because she is always next to me. The only time she's next to him is to sleep on the top of his couch which just happens to be next to my cage of rats which of course she loves to watch.
She's not allowed in our bedroom since my husband is somewhat allergic to cats so the bedroom is a no kitty zone. She has her own room at night. I was thinking about putting a used shirt of his in her bed so that she gets use to his smell.
Does anyone have any ideas or is this hopeless?

You and your husband are doing the exact right thing! Of course, hubby can give Mistletoe treats and feed her when he's home, but cats seem to chose certain people as their favorites! I think he'll love you both, but you might remain his main person.

It just takes time, sometimes.

Boo didn't much care for me at first. She hated all men. My sisters Ex has been too rough with her, so she thought all guys where. It took me 6 months of living in the same house with her for her to love and trust me. It might take the same.

Just keep things as they are. Have him feed her as much as possible, give her treats as much as possible, and play with her or try to play with her often. When she's asleep, have him pet her too.

HEy! Yeah, it does take time. My Chucky is having some strange feelings towards my boyfriend. He used to love him and my boyfriend was quite taken with him as well, but then all of a sudden Chucky started to attack him at the strangest times. My bf even said that Chucky acts differently around me (being nice and all) and then when I am gone he gets angry!! So weird. We have had some serious talks about it because my bf has had enough! He is allergic to him as well!!! I really hope that things calm down and Chucky gets over his little problem whatever it may be. I know for one thing we have just moved and Chucky is still feeling a bit of stress. I know when it is just me and Chucky he does a lot better. Scares me!! Maybe I will have to tell the bf to SCRAM!! hehe...yeah right!! But, Chucky does come first....I am afraid....:S
