How do I introduce a new cat

I have an idea but am not totally sure so thought I would ask. I will be bringing the new cat into my home in about 5 weeks. As I mentioned in my intro I have an Affenpinscher - she will be 5 in July. What is the best method of bringing in this new family member so that they integrate seamlessly? My new baby is a flame point CR between 2-3 years of age. She's recently had a litter of kittens, and when rescued, was being kept in a small box with her litter of 7!!! What is wrong with people?

Any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Please keep your responses simple - step-by-step, so it will sink in. I want to do this right.
