Hi,

People have been posting pictures in threads, I know t hat you can post pictures in the Cat Photos section, but tell me... how do you post pictures on topics and replies?

You have to link to the images. As an example:

A picture of my Suzy is uploaded to the Cat Photos. I now want to link the photo instead of just the link.

The link to the page where the photo is can be like:
http://www.catforum.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=2816

But how about the photo?

Well, on my computer and in my web browser I right-click on the photo and select "copy Image location", that copies the URL of the image. I then put the link inside the IMG-tags like this:

The result of the above IMG-tags will be the photo (I did on purpouse disable the BBCode so you could see the whole link and the tags).

Here is how the post would look like:

Note that the image needs to be the one you link to, not the page itself. The image should also end with .jpg (or other picture codes, like .gif or .png).

The link to the last image you tried to link to is this: http://www.catforum.com/photos/data/500 ... 09-med.jpg

Note the ".jpg" at the end of the image file.

If we put that link between the img-tags it should be like this:

Use the IMG tags-

[img]http://www.catforum.com/photos/data/500/2317Katrina_s_Digital_Pics_009-med.jpg[/img]

you need the url of the picture, to do that right click the picture and go to properties, it will have the url there, make sure you do this on the picture and not elsewhere on the page.

That's my cat. I just recently took that picture and a few others, and posted them in the Cat Photos section.
