I gave Robin a saucer of milk, today! It was rainy, overcast, and he seemed kinda blue,so I figured a treat would be just the pick-me-up he needed! How often should I do this?

Most adult cats are lactose intolerant...hopefully you won't have any problems, but don't be surprised if he gets diarrhea.

That said if he really liked it you can give him lactose free milk once in a while. I'd limit it to a few times a month.

Most adult cats are lactose-intolerant and will develop diarrhea (or vomiting) from dairy products. Keep an eye on your cat's litterbox. If his stool turns soft or runny over the next couple of days, or if he starts vomiting, you'll know that giving him milk is a very bad idea.

If he's an older cat, dairy also isn't a good idea. Dairy is high in phosphorus, which can be very hard on aging feline kidneys.
