Smudge weighs approx. 4 lbs. now and eats like a pig. I am really having a hard time figuring out how much to feed her. Right now she gets 1/4 can (large) and a handful of kibble in morning....snack midday....and dinner is the same as morning. We also leave out a little kibble at night or she wakes us up about 6 a.m. starving. Please can someone help me before I end up with an obese kitten!
Kittens are SUPPOSED to be little food monsters. They have a lot of growing to do and need a lot of calories. Feed her as much as she wants! When she gets to be somewhere between 7 and 12 months old, you can start monitoring her weight and her food intake.
Thank you. I'm planning on getting a really good kibble (Orijen, etc.) and a wet food which won't be quite that quality. I have found she doesn't really like fish which was a shocker!
