Ok, so my two fatties are on the nutro light dry (i know, dry food bad, but im changing them over to wet , we just moved and i didn't want to change everything at once) and on the cans of nutro,it says to feed 1 can (5.5 oz) per 5-7 lbs of body wieght... that seems like a ton! it would be 2-3 cans a day per cat for my big guys.

anyway, should i be feeding the light wet (whih is what i have so far) or should i feed the normal?

also, how much?

finally, dry food, is the light ok? i tend to go away every other weekend and they need to have dry food then, bc my roommates aren't going to feed them the wet.

btw, im looking into a better brand then nutro, but i haven'tfound any locally yet.

How much do your cats weigh? When Sabby was 19 pounds I started him off at 9 oz. of food every day. I fed him in three meals at scheduled mealtimes. He's now down to under 16 pounds and 5.5 oz of food at two daily scheduled mealtimes.

Of all the dry foods, I think that the Lite or Diet formulas are the worst. They lower the protein and fat content and up the amount of carbohydrates. If you must feed dry food, skip the lite foods entirely.
