(not entirely sure if this should be here or in H&N, your call mods :) )
One of the cats I have here is sort of an emotional eater. She's very friendly and very vocal when she wants attention, but she's also fat (even on diet food). She tends to eat quite a bit more than the other cats, esp when she's not paid attention to every time she meows.

Is there an effective way to get her to trim down or do I just leave her in her somewhat overweight state?

I'd suggest not giving her the ability to free-feed and only put food out for all 3 of them when it's actually meal time.

I've considered that but I think I'm going to hold off messing with their eating habits until my g/f and I are settled into are new place (10 days).
