Hi, I adopted a kitten that was born right here at my job in the the dirt 😞 But lucky for her she hit the lotto when I picked her to be part of my family. But that was after 12+ weeks with her momma who hangs out at my job. Anyway… I can’t seem to get her on board about scratching posts. She is 4-1/2 months old now. My other two adult cats took to them instantly when they were younger . Any tips ?

Thanks for the help. My poor couch is taking a beating

I would cover the areas they're scratching, or may scratch, with double sided tape. They hate that. I put cardboard scratchers next to the ends of my furniture. A bit of catnip may help, a lot of scratchers come with it. My girls love them, they even sleep on them (without catnip).

I also bought cat trees with sisal for them to scratch. They love sisal. This one, for example, is $44.00, but worth every cent when you figure you're saving your furniture.
