Every morning I get up, spend about an hour checking out Cat Forum, get ready for work, head off to work, stay for sometimes almost 10 hours (like tonight) come home, check the forums again, balance the budget, then collapse into bed only to do it all over the next day.

Don't get me wrong I love my job, it's the first job i've ever had where I actually like all my co-workers and could actually be considered a career with options of promotion, great benefits etc. But I am TIRED. Tonight we had a staff meeting where we were told our(the room techs) hours were going to be changed to reflect that of the doctors we were teching for + a 1 hour lunch instead of our usual half hour (or as it more regularly is....grab somthing in between clients, shovel it down and back to work). We will also be taking our lunch hour when the doctors do as opposed to our usual when we get a minute to breathe we take it. This could mean up to 14 hour days (more often 12 hour days) which is great for overtime and my paycheck, but I don't know if I will be able to keep up.

Envy and Chaos search the building the entire time I am gone according to Patrick, meowing and whining for me, and tackle me the instant I get home with accussing looks that just scream "Where have you BEEN??? We were worried sick!!!"

Ok yeah I am whining, but I wouldn't be me if I didn't find somthing to whine about with this otherwise perfect job  Now I am concerned I won't have the time needed to devote to breeding like I had planned. Sigh.

Edit: forgot to add these people are BIG on mandatory training, not only do I have to work 1 saturday a month (not a big deal I guess, we are only open 4 hours on saturdays) but this month they have scheduled mandatory training for the saturday before my saturday to work, which means two saturdays this month I will be at work. Waaaaaah!

Well at least you enjoy your job! I used to work for a big company where I worked OT and didn't even get paid for it really b/c we were based off of commission and it was very cruddy. I'm a whiner too and my bf knows it. I'm sure it won't be these long hours all the time right? I was exhausted nonstop when I worked before full time and had school, it was too much for me. So I know how you feel, but just keep your head up, at least you get to see cute little puppies and kitties when you're there
