It was the funniest thing. me and mom were in her room, and Boo came to investigate. She was in quite the vocal mood. (i tend to meow back at her). after a few meows, mostly kidding, I said, 'now you just gotta say it twice in a row' and then said 'mama' in a cat type sound. she responded a few times with "marow" kind of a sound, which i would respond with a meow 'mama' sound again, but the last one i swear she was trying to say mama!!!! Even if i just heard it that way in my head, it made my day!! lol. :love2

She is very smart, she may have been trying to imitate.

I totally believe you. My Teddy Bearz says maaa ever time he is super happy to see me. That is the only time I hear anything close. Being a MC his normal meow is half air.

One day I called my daughter on the phone. Just then, Teddy B walked in the room and in a parrot like tone said "Hello". In perfect "english". It freaked her out.

When my Teddy says maaa, my face and heart melts a zillion times over.

Oh, I believe it, too. My dear, dear, departed soulmate, Andrew, picked up on several things I said. We were sooo close, and talked to each other all the time. He and I made many, many 4-5 hour trips to specialists and university vet hospitals. When we finally came to the dirt/gravel road to home, he would stand up, look out the windshield, and say Go Home! And when he wanted to go outside, he would reach up and paw at the doorknob, saying Want Out! I miss him so much.
