What advice could you give? Boaz is an almost 4-year old neutered male indoor cat who goes outside for walks on harness and leash.

I'm in a difficult situation with my cat. He dives into the sink to lick dirty dishes, he climbs into cupboards and shatters dishes to the floor (in search of food, because he's food-obsessed), he crawls into the fireplace and pees and poops in the ashes, and he picks fights with my brother's cat Asher and sometimes with my Dad's cat Posie. I try to get Boaz to play with his toys, but he prefers hunting for food and fighting with the other cats to playing with toys.

Thus, I have to keep Boaz shut in my bedroom most of the day until I can let him out when I can supervise him and keep him away from Asher. Because Boaz has to spend so much time in my bedroom, he meows loudly and paws at the door, pulls at framed pictures and mirrors to bang into the wall, and in general make a huge nuisance of himself.

Asher hears Boaz's noise and comes to my bedroom door to play a game of angry "footsie" with Boaz. Asher also sprays all over the house.

I'm at my wit's end with these cats! Please help.

Hi! I have a cat Sonny who is quick food obsession to male cat too. He thinks he owns the place. Put baby locks on your chicken cabinets seriously I had another cat once who would open up all my cabinets door once my stove and freezer! Yes! I put baby locks on the cabinets and that took care of that.. don’t leave dishes in your sink esp at night. Cats tend to jump up and lick water in the sink. Keep it clean.. so if he does he’ll lick only water you don’t want to get him sick either. Also.. out more then one litter box out and go buy Cat Attrack put sprinkle in the litter it attracts cats to use the litter pan it really truly works I swear by it! Trained all my outside cats I keep inside now. My male Sonny too will use a certain litter box then his own cats are choosy so place to litter pans out. Actually my Sonny is in a bedroom all day I only let him out at night because he is so marmaduke ish he bosses all my girl cats around and intimidates them and eats all their food. Also leave different types of cat food in his room he may get bored what he’s eating. Likes what he’s eating but give him more of a variety that might stop the wandering and leave two bowls of water out too since he likes to drink. He sounds like a good cat though and adorable doing kitty things my Sonny does everything you said but he is the cutest guy ever and is so super friendly. Just loves to eat too. Try some stuff I said, he does sound like a cutie!

Thank you! My cat has figured out child-proof latches. He pulls the cupboard door open a tiny gap, sticks his paw through the gap, and pulls the trash can down.

He's not a major water drinker; it's the food remnants on the dirty dishes that he's after. He's not AT ALL a picky eater! The last thing I'd do is leave cat food out for him all the time; he'd eat and eat until he becomes twice the size he is now!

I'll keep Cat Attract in mind. Usually, he uses the litter box just fine; it's only when he has access to the fire place that he prefers to go in the fire place. It's weird.

To make matters worse, now he's started getting up super early in the morning, like 2 hours before his feeding time, and he runs all over my bedroom, running over me disturbing my sleep, squeaking and yodeling, and knocking things over. So, I go to put him in his kennel, but he's become wise to that move, too, and darts under my bed before I can catch him sometimes.

He's a bully to our other 2 cats (spayed and neutered male and female) so I can't let him roam the house freely for that reason either. I have some people in my circle of family and friends that make me feel like a horrible cat owner for making Boaz stay shut in my room all the time, and I have other people that make me feel like a horrible cat owner for the little bit of time that I do let Boaz out and he gets into trouble if I'm busy for just a moment.
