Has anyone ever noticed that cats get so ticked when you clean their litterbox?

I do the litterbox cleaning every day, yet Pinky still gets mad about it. It's kind of funny to say the least.

I mean, I know it's like a territorial thing, you're touching their private spot, but it's just kind of silly to me how irked they get over it.

She gets especially mad when I do my weakly rinse on it. :3 use a very light detergent wash on it then rinse it of really well, and she'll look at me like I'm harming her world.

All I can say is "Silly kitty, I promise I'm cleaning it for your health, not to be mean to you!"

Kyra and Tucker both absolutely NEED to immediately jump in the clean box and soil it.

Then they give me the stink eye for cleaning it in the first place. LOL

I need to try something semi mean to my kitties. Just keep cleaning till they are on empty, then see how many kitty glares I get.

Mia likes a clean box. While I am cleaning it she is right there watching me and as soon as I am finished she jumps in and does her duty. :smiles

I remember someone posting here a long time ago that their cat jumped into the kitty little container and used it while they were scooping. :grin:

Jack has used a clean box even before i get the litter into it... I scoop, wash, rinse, set it down and reach for the litter just to have him leave a puddle in it before I can put it in. Pepper at least waits for the litter to be added.

No all cats mind..but my...

Danna my female doesn't mind that I clean her litter box every time she uses it. Blackie on the other hand stays there staring and looking at me and when I am done he goes in the little box and messes everything up like if he is going to use it but no he just likes to see the litter sand messi just how he left it before I clean it..

Missy got me up a few nights ago to scoop her litterbox, which she'd just used. I couldn't understand what she wanted because it wasn't food. Then she went over to the box, and without getting in, put her paw over the side and scraped. After I'd scooped she was satisfied.
