Hello,

Hopefully someone can help. I think my cat might be constipated. He is 8 months and this hasn't happened before. He hasn't pooped in 2 days, and has REALLY slowed down on eating. He usually is right there when I fill up the bowl and it is gone in an hour.. but the food I put there at noon today is still there now at 11:30 at night. Are there any home treatments or suggestions. Anything would be greatly appreciated.

You can give him a dose of vaseline by mouth; a good finger-ful. It's safe and has good laxative action that might help get him going. But please call the vet first thing tomorrow and get him an appointment right away if he hasn't "produced." This is a serious problem in a young cat and can get much worse quickly if it isn't addressed.
