I think I got scammed...

Has anyone ever heard of TrueNorthPets.com? It's a website specializing and flea/tick/worm meds. Anyways, I ordered a 12 pack of Revolution a month ago and still haven't recieved anything other then the order confirmation email and that's it. So I tried calling them and the only number they have for customer service has a message saying they are closed for the Xmas holidays and will open in January??? :x Huh? So I sent them an email but I doubt they will respond. I am so mad... it's not like I have money to spare right now and this set me back quite a bit. I am moving in a month and a half so if I don't recieve it by then, then I never will as the place I am at now doesn't forward mail to your new address and people generally throw out whatever is in their mail box that isn't theres. I am so mad.

I haven't heard of the company, but if I were you I would call my credit card company and dispute the charge.

Sorry this happened :(
If you ordered by credit card, call your credit card company and dispute the charge.
Ugh, this happened to me once before and my credit card company pretty much told me too bad. I'll wait a day and if they haven't responded to my email I guess I will have to call and say this company pretty much doesn't exist. *Sigh*
I think you got scammed too. Whenever a price is really low on flea meds, it's best to be wary. They're selling Frontline Plus for less than my wholesale cost...so even if they do ship the product you ordered it's likely to be counterfeit.

Report it to the credit card company, they should not be telling you "too bad". And also report it to the Canadian equivalent of the Better Business Bureau.

It didn't seem that cheap to me but then again this was the only site I found that would ship revolution without a vet license. Ugh should have known. I'll call the credit card company now and I am going to make a stink if they refuse to credit me back.
What sort of shipping did you choose? Was the conformation email automated, thanking you for your purchase? Or was it something they sent a few days letter confirming its shipment?

A month isn't an unheard of time to wait, but it's pushing it. If a month and a half passes, even the slowest shipping methods shouldn't take that long to Canada so either it was lost in the mail or something similar. I was burned once on 200 dollars worth of items, they never arrived and I'll never know if it was the seller, was lost in shipping, or if the mailman left it at the door and it was stolen (unbelievably this is something they do sometimes!!)...
definitely report it to the credit card company and put the dispute in writing as well! some of them require you do so in writing within 60 days of the purchase or you will be stuck with paying up no matter what. if you don't receive anything for your money, then that charge should be completely removed from the card.

It was an automated email thanking me for my purchase and said it will be shipped soon. I never after that recieved anything stating it was shipped or anything. The email I sent them just recently bounced back. I am so mad. I am going back and forth with the CC company... they are saying its a legit company. grrrrrr

Oh and it was shipped UPS express.... so it shouldn't have taked more then a week max.

Legit company or not, if they do not provide what you paid for within a reasonable or promised time, you should not be charged for it. also, they should have a way to cancel orders that are not already in fulfillment process
Good news

Well I just got off the phone with the CC company. When I told the lady that when I called the message said they were closed for xmas, she laughed at me for a good 20 seconds. How unprofessional. Good news is that they gave me a dispute number and says the charges will be reversed in 2 business days. :)
i had the same problem with lime roommate spray only i had been ordering from them for 5 years. i paid in may and didn't get it until august. i didn't call my cc because i kept talking to the guy on the phone, but i finally told him i was reversing the charges if i didn't get it in 7 days and i got it. (he said it was some problem getting citrus, it's all natural non-aerosol, but that's not my problem. if you can't get it, don't charge me for it.) you used to have to write a letter within 90 days (i worked for a bank cc 100 years ago :)) but now all you do is complain. they'll credit you while it's investigated and if they don't have sufficient proof required, they debit you back.

i filed a complaint with the BB in the states. they don't do anything (well not in my case, i had already received the mdse. but i was complaining about length of time) but you can look up the business and see prior complaints. this isn't sure-fire of course, but it's a decent indication. you can bet if you see one online, that there have been many more. i also had a problem with bébo body butter in ottawa, only it was just $14 so i was ready to call it a loss. ordered in march, got it in august, said she sent it twice, then said she had a broken shoulder . . . blah blah blah. i didn't file anything on her and i love the product but i never ordered any more. the room spray was $80, i used to order it by the case because it was much cheaper than buying it one can at a time (that's 6.50 w/shipping and wild oats was selling it for 7.49 @)

I really hope they don't re-charge me again for it. I'll have to keep checking often. I have a feeling they will send it here eventually, but by then I will be long gone from this place so I will never know really.

It's funny because as soon as I typed it in google, the words scam came up highlighted. This is based out of Edmonton and funny enough, it has a ton of complaints with the BBB there... some with not getting items at all and others not getting it for like a year. First of all though... why does a call center have an answering machine that wasnt updated since before xmas and why does my emails bounce back. Everything about this seems too fishy. Just hopefully I get my money back and thats it.
you will get your money back from the cc because the merchant won't be able to provide proof that the order was shipped. (or at least not received because the p.o. would have shipment confirmation if it had actually been shipped. if indeed the p.o. received it and lost it, you might have to start over from there.) they credit you and in turn debit the merchant's account. when a merchant consistently has problems like this, their account is cancelled, just like when a person continues to write hot checks. they can try to change banks but they also have to change their dba ("doing business as") because credit reports follow them. if they manage to get around that, they will have absolutely no credit report and will be treated as such.

they have an outdated answering machine message and invalid e-mail address because: they're big giant crooks. that's how shady people operate.

next time, if you know nothing about a company, at least check with the bb before you give out your card number. worse things than not receiving the mdse. can happen (like they sell your cc#--and then talk about a hassle).

also, check your credit card statement regularly because if they're fraudulent, odd charges for $5-$10 will appear and then they'll max you out. don't wait until it's too late. a lot of times a credit card company will ask you to get a new number and close that account when something like this happens. if yours doesn't, you might want to consider doing so anyway. it's a hassle, but disputing fraudulent charges with a maxed-out card is much worse.

and have to say (one more time), if a product on the internet is such a deal it's too good to be true, it probably is.

I know, it was my mistake for jumping the gun and not researching it more. Next time I will be extra carefull if/when I order online again. Yes I will keep an eye out to make sure nothing shady happens. I never had problems ordering offline before... next time I order cat related stuff online I'll check in here first. :p
