Our beautiful little 10 year old calico cat Gabbee has just been diagnosed with iris melanosis. Please see attached photo. Our vet says she may need to have her beautiful eye removed to save her life!!
Does anyone have any experience with this problem? We are devastated. We thought it was just discolouration from a fight with her brother and now this!! Thank you.

She is a very beautiful cat! I know it'll be sad to see her have to have her eye removed. I have no experience with this. Is the brown eye the one that has to be removed? I'm very sorry. Since it has spread to her whole eye, I understand that may have to be removed.

Thank you for your kind thoughts. The problem eye is her right eye which has become darker over the past few months. She is so dear and kind - I would give my eye for her.

My Cali needed to have her leg amputated to save her life. So I know how hard this decision is.
