Just curious if this means anything at all. I play with him ALL the time and talk to him lots. Whenever I am sitting at my desk (which is the majority of my free time that I'm not with him) he will come lay down right in front of me. He'll either sit right in front of me and stare (~1ft away) or he'll lay down and sleep. I certainly don't mind it, just wondering if he is lonely or something.

He is an only cat and I work 4~10 hours 5 days, but do spend a lot of time with him. I've been thinking that the desk is wood & a cooler temperature than if he were to be laying on the floor.. and it's kind of hot out. Buuut, he does this even when the AC is on.

oh.. he sleeps on my hand\arm a lot when up here. And I get to play with his ears and whiskers without any back-talk :love2

He looks pretty content to me :) And boy is he ever gorgeous!!!! Wow!!

It's one of those things where you just never know how he will react to another cat. Most older cats are not to thrilled at another cat being dropped into their home. Has he ever been around other cats before? I have one cat that cannot be around other cats, and has lived the past 5 years separated from my other cat, and now a third cat came into the picture, but he gets along with the nice cat, so those two have buddies, and it's great. I LOVE it! They are never alone. But, my cat Taffy, who was 5, is the most gentle, docile cat ever, and we were pretty sure it would go well with him and another cat, and it did. We were prepared that if it didn't, we would foster the newest kitten, Stephano, until we found a great forever home for him, but it worked out good for us, because they love each other. Hey, maybe you could foster a cat? Through a rescue that goes out and tries to get the cats adopted out on the weekends? A good rescue. Then you could see how it goes. Put the foster up in a spare room or bathroom for a few days, or a week, and let them see each other through the door and get some idea of how your kitty feels about another cat in the house. It could work. Then if you were just fostering, you wouldn't be bound to keeping the cat. I don't know, just an idea, maybe it's not a good one, I'm tired, LOL!

Anyway, your kitty is beautiful!

My sister that used to live with me had a small dachshund dog while Hachi was about 1yr old. They used to play together occasionally, but mostly just sniff each other and be on their way. He has been around other cats when he was 6mo~1yr but not really since then. Always got along with others.

I also have a labrador retreiver but he is old and lazy, so they kind of just ignore each other. Most he'll do is jump over the sleeping dog while running around or he'll "hide" behind him while stalking a toy :p

I work close to small private shelter and have been considering fostering, maybe I'll look into it a bit more!

and that is LoL, not WoW! :)

Thanks for the comments!

They are similar in a small way, but LoL is more team based (thus more frustrating, hah)

Yes he's a Bengal. I'd describe him like Jacob is to Bella in the twilight series... "imprinted". He follows me around everywhere, does tricks for me, gets super excited when I get home. He'll play with other people but as soon as I come into the picture he'll walk away from them no matter what and come to me. Lets me stick my face in his belly and licks my hair :p... will stand on my shoulders etc etc.. He makes me feel loved.

I had a similar dilemma when I had Simon (my avatar, who your cat kind of reminds me of in those pictures). I was working 10 hour days plus had 4 hour dialysis treatments 3 evenings a week. Simon was with me all the time when I was home and I wondered if he needed someone during the day.

When he passed away, I adopted my present two girls. I'm still gone a lot during the day. And when I'm home they both are very attention seeking. So the number of cats doesn't seem to change the loving clinginess to their person. But perhaps it might be better for them during the day?

I used to think my cat was Okay with being an only cat but then life happened a few days ago and I took in a stray kitten. They are playing together way more than I ever did with him, and when I saw the kitten groom him and he looked so content, I knew that was something I could never give to my cat. But the decision is up to you.

I have two cats and one still hangs out with me most of the time and really doesn't want to play with the other. They have the choice of going outside anytime during the day and she still does what your cat is doing when I am on the computer. I am not sure you can predict anything. Do YOU want another cat?

So mixed feelings it seems! I've just left him after playing with a specific toy a few times and after coming home 5+ hours later he was waiting at the door with the same exact toy in his mouth. Made me kind of sad.

I DO want another cat, and do plan to get another eventually, but at the moment cannot afford a second... so maybe the foster path is better. Something Ill have to look into more.

Thanks again all for the nice comments about him :) he just turned 3.
