Is wet fish cat food good for them?

I've read lots of places that too much fish is really bad for cats, but my cats favorite wet food seems to be her Ocean Whitefish and Tuna Feast, and Cod, Sole and Shrimp Feast. (still experimenting though, but she seems to like these best so far).
If it's cat food, is it okay to get her the fish kind? Or should I still feed her the Chicken Feast, and Turkey and Giblets Feast too? She seems to like these ones too, though not as much.

Whatever you can do, would like to do, please understand that I'm 'pushing' nothing here.

I was offering some thoughts about this:
should I still feed her the Chicken Feast, and Turkey and Giblets Feast...She seems to like these ones
I'm confused, though about your reply...so, can I ask a question?

You said:
I've already talked to them about it many times, they refuse....
But, somehow, you did get some wet foods:
I have an entire box of it... It was enough of a fight getting them to agree to wet food, it was only after the vet said she needed it that they caved.
My suggestion when I posted was: if you can get any wet foods...consider asking for cheaper large-can varieties. You'll end up with more, and better quality food....for the same money.

Hi wolfheartmoon !

It sounds like you're on the edge of creating some Fancy Feast addicts there! Better be careful!

FF has a reputation often described as 'kitty crack'. I'd say that the sooner you can introduce some better quality canned varieties, the better. I'm speaking from my own experience as well. My guys were 'on it' for about three years until 2007....it took some time to transition them to better things, and weaning them from fish was the most difficult part.

There is a selling point, though, that you can use when dealing with your parents on this: COST.....FF, when compared to better quality food in large, 12/13 ounce cans, is much more expensive. You can do some researching on pricing in the meantime........

Here's one brand example to check out for price Wellness Grain-free Chicken Recipe 12oz cans

And another EVO Turkey & Chicken Cat & Kitten Formula 13oz cans- Natura Pet Products

And, one more note about FF......if you're going to use it, yes, avoid the fish varieties BUT, also stay away from those with "gravy". Those contain wheat gluten.......something not fit for a cat! The acceptable varieties are the "Classic" ones. This page shows the choices - those on the right have no gravy: Fancy Feast® Classic Wet Cat Food | Fancy Feast®

If you want to better understand the best choices when searching out canned food options, The 'Oracle of Feline Nutrition' (I wonder how she'd take to that!), Dr Lisa Pierson, offers a free course in commercial canned foods right here: Commercial Canned Foods by Lisa A. Pierson, DVM

Yes, I know what you suggested. Which is why my parents are insane. "The vet said to get Fancy Feast so that's what we're getting" is her comment. She controls my money, so won't allow me to buy the furball anything better than FF. Since "The vet said Fancy Feast so stop saying she needs better" I tried to explain that the vet only recommends Fancy Feast because I told her I couldn't afford to get her food she sold at the office, so she said I should get her Fancy Feast then, but that she would really prefer something better, but understood if I couldn't afford her foods. My mom would throw a big fit over that as well too though. Since the bigger cans would need to be ordered, or we would have to go out of town to the pet store. (Sadly, I'm not able to drive)

I'm going to be moving in January-ish though, so after that, my kitty should be getting on an even better diet than she is now.
