Hello

I was wondering if any of your cats do the same thing. Whenever my hubby and I are laying down watching TV and my cat is off killing the mouse or whatever, she then walks around for a bit and makes this really funny noise. She isn't meowing its more of a mutter or something like that. I don't know the exact word to describe what she's making but it's not meowing. Other times that she does this is when I come home from work, she's home alone all day.

I was thinking she wants attention.

Perhaps some of you would know what she's trying to tell us.

well my cats make all sorts of noises, sometimes if i shine the laserpen on the ceiling, or they see a bird, they either open thier mouth and make this weird noise, or open it and nothing comes out. Even then for no reason my cats sometimes make weird noises too.

Do you mean a sort of chattering noise? Cats do this when they are playing (you mentioned her killing the mouse) or watching prey. It comes from the way cats kill their prey, a fast snapping of the jaws, designed to break the prey's neck and bring a quick death. When cats see something they want to hunt, they make this noise, as if they are imagining they had it in their jaws.

hehe, yeah charlie does the chattering thing when he's on my window sill...it's so funny.
