Kansas City Cat Show??

Hi! I want to get a kitten for my 8 year old daughter after our house is built in December. I guess a cat show is a good place to get some ideas for a good breed.

Will there be a cat show anytime in Kansas City?

And do you know of any good Internet sites that have good pictures of the different breeds?

I would like a short or medium hair. I have a slight allergy.

But I want a really beautiful color, perhaps with some red.

Do you know anyone near Kansas City I should contact?
