I just can't describe the feeling! the first time Doodles had her kittens I was kind of scared , I knew what was going to happen and I was well read on the subject but when the time actually came it was just Doodles and me in the house on our own.
She was miaowing like she was in a bit of a panic, wandering around the house and as soon as my head turned to look at her I seen her squatting to the floor. I had the most unbelievable rush of adrenaline... it was actually happening! I could see that she just didn't know what to do with herself so I popped her onto the sofa with some towels. She settled right down. The first kitten just popped out so quickly and it was an amazing feeling, my baby has a baby! It was just as exciting if not more with each kitten that was born. We had trouble with the last (4th) kitten being born, his little head was stuck, the sac burst and Doodles was exhausted.
By this time I was lucky enough that a friend who is an expert with cats giving birth, came in and helped get the wee lad out. I was petrified but once he was out and was wriggling around I was ssso happy!
This time, Doodles had been out all night and knocked on the door to get in really early one morning. My fiancee opened the door for her and came back to bed. Later on I was woken up with a very loud "We've got kittens!!". I bolted out of bed still half asleep.
This time Doodles had gone straight to her box and there was 2 kittens. One had only just came out because he was still covered with goop. LOL!
I thought that I would be a bit calmer second time round but I was just as excited as the first time only without the nervousness. I must have looked like a mad woman because everytime another kitten appeared I'd be all wide eyed and excited, running around the house looking for Martyn then jump up and down saying "There's another one! there's another one!!"
It's the greatest feeling I've ever experienced! Even after they were all born, you get all excited about the things they get up to while they grow up. You get excited all over again once their eyes and ears open up, when they start exploring and it's such a laugh watching them play together.
Sorry if I've gone on a bit, i got a bit excited again, LOL! Oh, and sorry about my story telling skills, I've never been good at explaining things that have happened.
