Moderators, I am not sure if this is the right forum for this, so please move it if you need to.

There was an investigation about a radiation leak at the WIPP site near Carlsbad here in New Mexico. As it happens they have traced it to a change in the kitty litter they use to absorb liquids before the waste is taken down. Here is the article:
