We've got two little males. The oldest is about 2 years old and the youngest is about 24 weeks now. We got him (Persius) when he was 16 weeks or so. At that time he had no problems using the litter box along with our other cat and the only accident he had was the first night when he peed in the laundry basket (prolly forgot where the box was). About a week and a half after we got him, we left town for 10 days (family emergency) and had a friend watch the house. When we got back the bed was completely covered in pee. We figured that the "friend" didn't come for a few days and either accidentally closed the door to where the box was, or the box was just so bad that they had to pee some place else. Persius kept peeing on the bed, so we got a second litter box for him. That worked for a little while, but now he has all but completely stopped using it. Now he uses the main litter box, the bed, the sheets (if they're off the bed), the floor (that's as of 2 days ago), and tonight he tried to pee on our new down comforter. We literally JUST put it on the bed, when he jumped up, sniffed around, and then started to squat. My girlfriend put him in the litter box right away and he peed in there.

What, if anything, can we do/try? Oh, and yes, we clean the cat box atleast once a day...I thought that might be it too...but no luck. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Please take him to the vet. When a cat stops using the litterbox after being trained, there is usually a bladder infection or some other problem with the urinary tract. He might have been upset by your leaving also. He just left his mother and litter mates, and then you had to go away. It could also be stress.

Then, regardless of the results of testing, get an enzyme cleaner and thoroughly clean any spot he might have urinated on. A black light will locate all of them. Good luck!
