Some of you will know by my other threads that I purchased a kitten I named Dennis (...The Menace) nearly 2 weeks ago as a companion to my now Resting In Peace beloved baby boy Samurai...
When I got him from the pet shop he was the last of the litter, the lady working there told me that his mum had been taken to them heavily pregnant as her owner didn't know how to care for the mother to be feline and she would collect the cat in a couple of months time. I saw Jess tucked away in a corner of the pet shop, I said hello and gave her a little stroke (she was very sweet and friendly)
On Saturday I went to the same pet shop to get Dennis a few more toys (to try and stop him from climbing my walls and scratching everything in sight!) and to my disgust there was Jess (meowing sadly) in a cage with four little kittens pawing all over her. I questioned the pet shop woman and was told they had had a call from the owner who no longer wanted Jess, so they had decided to try and get Jess to milk feed these kittens that didn't even belong to her! In the blink on an eyelid I had told the woman that I would take Jess home with me (her name then was Jo, but she wouldn't respond to it so I decided to give the little 3 year old a fresh new start - hence the name change)
I got her home and she gingerly came out of the box... She is a very loving but nervous cat, I planned on introducing Dennis very slowly to her as to not scare her, but he somehow slipped out of his holding room and rushed up to Jess to say hello. Jess immediately took to him after a few sniffs she held him down and thoroughly cleaned him. I was under the impression that a kitten and mother after a few days held no bond but these two seemed to just instantly know each other

And here are some pictures of them together >>
Nothing and no one will ever replace my beautiful baby boy Samurai - BUT I feel that I have done a good thing by rescuing Jess and reuniting mother and son :2kitties
