she is going nuts. She is being very good and has not touched the Christmas Tree (knock on wood ). But she has taken up trying to climb door ways and walls. Anyone have any idea what this is about? BTY she is about 1.5 yrs old

Princess'mom, have you trained your cat not to climb a Christmas tree? I am thinking that she sees the tree, and wants to climb something, actually, I think she wants to climb the tree, but is afraid to do so, possibly because she remembers retributions for attempting such from last year.

Could you get her a cat tree or make something for her to climb in the house?

Cats naturally want to climb things and be high above everyone else. Possibly you can get your cat a kitty condo tree that almost reaches your ceilings that way if it is bored it can climb that also use as a scratching post :wink:

My kittens really enjoy an old matressthat lies verticallly against one of my walla. It's extremely unnattractive, but they're slway climbing it and having fun chasing eachother up it. They've even taken to sleeping on it. So if you could find an actually attractive version of that, she'd probably really love it! It is pretty loud with their claws ripping at it all the time (it's right outside my bedroom door), but it's worth it for their pleasure! And with it, this is the first year no one has tried to climb my tree, lol!

i think that is something all cats do!!!
maybe they don't all climb walls, but mine will get sudden bursts of engery and tear up and down the stairs jumping over things and on top of things!!!
and this they do by themselves, not even playing with any of the other cats!

though about climbing...milo loves to jump up and sit on top of any open door, then he'll start acting frisky up there and i'm always afraid he's gonna fall and kill himself!!!! :lol:

oh yeah and milo loves to climb the christmas tree too!!...brat!!!
