Thanks from both of us! If someone dropped him off intentionally, they must just not like cats in general, because Marty's such a sweet, affectionate little thing, with no bad habits at all.

Hey, I think Marty's in pike position.

I meant to comment on your other photo, Rob, that you have a good looking cat. The fact that he's laid back and devoted are even better attributes.

If someone did drop this little gem off, their loss was definitely your gain. :)

I'm pretty sure my cat Taffy was dropped off in my neighborhood, that or he got out of someones house and could not find his way back. Because he was just shell shocked, he had no clue how to be outside at all. We saw him first sitting in the middle of the road, woudln't even move for cars, we had to get out of the car and shoo him off the road. Then he wound up in my back yard, in June, and it was raining, and he was just sitting in the rain, not moving. I thought something might have been wrong with him, so I was afraid to touch him, but I walked right up to him and he didn't even move, and didn't even see me. Then I fed him two cans of cat food and he perked up, and came back every night for two months, until we decided to trap him and keep him. Turns out he is most definitely at least part maine coon, he has all the charactaristics and personality of one, super fluffy with a coat that took almost 5 years to reach what it is today. It has been 5 years sine we've had him, and we think the same thing, he is a treasure that either someone dumped here, or he got lost, because there was no way this cat had been outside before he had zero clue how to be outside at all. He is my little treasure :)

What a great story! Maine coons are such beautiful cats. Sounds like he won the cat lottery in finding you!
