If you're like me, you spend time each week trying to decide if any of those new flicks are worth the price; or perhaps you stand in the video rental store, staring at the multitudinous shelves and wondering what you should rent.

So, let's here some of your recommendations! What's your favorite movie currently in theatres? Your favorite rental? What do you like in each of the different genres, like drama, sci-fi, action...?

Give the rest of us some ideas! :D

NO SPOILERS, please.

I'll go first, since I started it. ;)

Favorite in theatres: The Island. Just saw it last night, and I was utterly blown away. I wasn't expecting much, as sci-fi has been a little lackluster and plot-holey lately, but this one was polished to perfection. If you dig the classic sci-fi (think: Philip K Dich << STUPID board filters won't let me type his name... this is sad), I think you'll love this one.

Favorite on video: We have lots on the shelves that I watch over and over again.

The Incredibles - Perhaps the best movie I've ever seen. EVER. Really. Animated, suitable for younguns.
Galaxy Quest - Comedy, a Star Trek spoof, but not really. It never gets old.
Jurassic Park - The first sci-fi that really turned my head, and its special effects have yet to be bested. Probably qualifies as my favorite movie.
Pirates of the Caribbean - One of my favorite action flicks... and, hey, it has Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp. Yes, please.

I just saw Dark Water it was pretty good for people like me who like suspensful movies. I definitely wouldn't call it scary though! I also saw the original, with the same name. Both are worth seeing.

Hi my name is Corry and I am a horror movie addict

Imaginary Heroes: Very sad movie about a family dealing with their own dysfunctions and the death of a family member to suicide. I highly reccomend it.

Napoleon Dynamite: this one is definitely on my list of favourite movies now!

Good old scary ones like The Shining and The Changeling and newer scary ones like Infection it has english subtitles. Dead Birds was good purely for the creepy special effects!!
