And then comes in.. and lays in the garage. It's Florida, and the middle of summer. She just, BAKES all day! When she finally comes in (we keep the litter box in the garage with a doggy door), she drinks a little bit of water, and sits at the water bowl for HOURS. Then goes and eats, and then sits back at the water bowl for a long time.

Is this normal?

I've been contemplating taking her to the vet, since it's about time anyway.

My 2 other indoor/outdoor cats who are the same age (4) do not do this at all!

Just a little worried.

Welcome!

It doesn't sound normal to me, but with the four kooks I have, "normal" is no longer what I thought it was before I had cats. :D

Since it's time for her check-up anyway, I'd take her in. For your own peace of mind, if nothing else.

Our first kitty Nikki used to do that - and we later found out she had kidney failure. Doesn't mean your girl does for sure, but if she does have anything going on health-wise her "self-roasting" ways aren't going to help her stay hydrated... I am glad you are going to get her checked out....
