I’ve recently adopted a cat, and within a couple days I noticed she had ear problems. I’ve taken her to the vet twice for ear infection. Her ears keep bothering her, scratching and head shaking on and off since I got her. Nothing has helped so far. Both times they gave me Surolan drops-the moment her 10 days of those drops were done she started scratching again. Then she has started getting pus in one ear. They gave me a Oti Scrub cleanser to clean her ears out. She still keeps scratching one spot in her ear.

I haven’t been able to actually see the vet due to lockdown restrictions- I’ve had to drop my cat off at the door. I don’t feel like I’ve gotten a proper consultation for my money. I had asked for a phone consultation but they haven’t returned my call. Does anyone have any advice that could help? I hate seeing my cat in pain and I’ve already spent a fortune on the vet visits so far.
How can I fix this infected spot in her ear? If I touch her ear if gets kinda red and a bit swollen! Please help!!
I’m also starting her on a grain free diet in case that’s the problem.

Her diet may not be agreeing with her. Both my boys get ear issues if they eat fish or chicken kibble. I feed them one meal of raw ground turkey, know better pet food premix, and heart diced up. I wish I could afford it 100% but 3 animals is too much to feed all raw. Her ears need to be cleaned daily, twice a day with an every day cleaner after her vet prescribed stuff is done. Zymox is a good brand and malacetic otic can both be bought on walmart website.
