I don't know how it started, but my cat has been licking her nose
raw for quite a while now.

A scab is formed every other day but she just licks it off
and her nose is bloody again.

Don't know what to do, it has caused her to have trouble
breathing through her one nostril.

Her nose whistles and reminds me of someone from the Ally Mcbeal program.

you should take her to a vet asap, it isn't good for a kitty to lick their nose raw like that

John's nose (from Ally McBeal) whistled when he got nervous or uncomfortable hahaha good times!

Vet's Explanation

I took my cat to the VET and he said the
reason for the iritation in my cat's nose
is from a cancer that has developed in her
nostrils and sinus canal.

This was caused by a lot of exposure to the sun
and was made worse by the fact that she has a
white nose. Absorbs more sun than a darker nose.

There is a couple of ways of treating this, but my
cat is too old to undergo most of the suggested
treatments.

So in the end there is no cure for this...

And as a result this will be my last post to this forum.

I'm so sorry. I hope you will someday be able to get another cat. Although no other cat can take her place, it will help you get over the loss.
