I feel very, very blessed today! :D

I'd like to share what I got today from someone who answered my Craigslist ad:

beef chuck roast

beef round roast

beef short ribs

beef shoulder roast

beef sirloin tip roast

beef stew chunks

pork chops

pork roast

roast beef, sliced

steak

tenderloins

venison chops

venison roast

venison steaks

Chubs/Packs of wild game meat---appears to be ground meat of some sort

Is all of this okay for me to feed to my cats?

They estimated it to be 60-70 lbs of meat. Everything is so nicely packaged/wrapped and clearly labeled. I am so grateful--thank you God!

Looks like you did good. Everything IMO is good to feed. Though read up on pork and decide for yourself. Pork is sometimes a debated food.

Very good sounding! Hand it over lol

The only free beef I get is dairy cows. Not as tasty probably but its free. Sad part though is that it came from calves that I have raised myself - before our dairy quit we would butcher a cow whenever a few people were low on meat. So digging through freezers a lot of the stuff is old but still just fine for a cat.

It's all GREAT! And there is nothing wrong w/ pork -- it's a good red meat (yes, red--ignore the propaganda!) for cats. As with any new food, introduce gradually. But all those are great for cats. The ground stuff is fine, too. I use a big serrated knife to cut the chubs up into smaller pieces and freeze separately. Then I can thaw a small amount at a time. I have one bone-phobic dog who gets some of the free ground stuff I get and I give it to the cats maybe one meal a week. It's a good meal to mix stuff into (taurine powder or salmon oil, for instance) b/c it mixes INTO the ground beef instead of sitting on top. :)

CONGRATS!!! YOU DONE GREAT! Good feeling, isn't it? And your cats view you now as The Mighty Hunter!

What a great haul! Doesn't it just make you tingle all over! LOL! A nice variety, too.

My cats love pork. It's their second favorite meat after venison. You lucked out that your source used a meat processor who clearly labels the packages. I often get wrapped meat like that with NO labeling, so the animals get "mystery meat" quite regularly.

Say what you will about Craig's List, but there are terrific finds to be had through that resource.

Ya done good!
