Well you remember that need some help/advices topic i made ? I allready have the cat ! Its a sweet bengal, very playful, very cuddly, the only thing im sad about is that he is not a kitten. Hes allready 6 months old (The lady who sold him told us hes 4,5 months old first, im confuzed), at least hes used to use the litterbox.

And there is one more thing. I have him 2 days (3 nights) and i am keeping him in one of our rooms, (guestroom). He has all the stuff he needs here, + bed, + lots of things to play with, climb on, or hide in. At this point, we get it so far, that he is not actually running behind the bed when the door opens. This evening we let him out of the room, to explore other rooms. He was very sceptical, and scared, but he explored the area. He is still more comfortable closed in the room, but he is very scared, and is running when I or my mother do a fast movement. Im getting to the point, How long does it take for a new cat, to get used for its new home and owners ?

I would close all the doors possible so that your kitten is in the same room as you (as close as possible, anyway). Put some great smelling canned cat food relatively close to you and sit quietly. If the kitten comes out, talk to it quietly. Quiet is an important word, isn't it? LOL Each day move the food a little bit closer. Continue the quiet atmosphere. Don't make any fast movements. It shouldn't take more than 5-7 days. It could take only a few days. Eventually, when the food is right beside you on the chair or couch, touch the kitten gently, while talking to him. That should do it! Perhaps this kitten was not socialized as well as he should have been, or is only used to her breeder. Good luck!

Some cats take a bit to get used to but it just seems like the cat is just getting used to the place and my cats took awhile too and they loved to hide behind the computer! Twinkie is really scared of fast movement and lot of noise but until he got used to our rumbling about and running around the apt, he's very content now. Just give it time, it shouldnt be that much longer before he is used to the normal sounds coming from your home. <<))
