I was in shock yesterday.... I recently adopted two kitties. One is 8 and special needs. She is blind, deaf, has a heart murmur (so what, I have one too. ;)) and now I know she has CKD too. Not all the tests are back, but levels are high the vet said. We brought her in for not being able to pee so no surprise she has a UTI. She is skinny so my plan is to fatten her up and then I'll worry more about the special foods. But, my Taylor who had some kidney issues already had me researching. I'd like to use by nature organics for them. I would prefer to not use rx foods, but we will see how this goes. There are three flavors of organix close to rx foods so that is another option. I adopted Felicia wanting to give her a good retirement. Hopefully with treatment she will have a long one. I do wonder with her being only 8 if maybe she was born unhealthy, but she isn't the youngest cat to get it either.
