lol, exactly.

I must've thought of a 1,000 names... I'd call the name out every time and she was indifferent. I said "Punky" and she turned and meowed. (she was found as a stray so I guess her former name must've been close.)

A friend had a dog with no name for the longest time, one day the dog was licking his face and he said "Man, his breath smells like coffee." From that day on, the dogs name was "Java".

My parents were taking care of a litter of kittens that Stormy was in before I took her. They had named her Missy and her brothers Marvin, Pete, and Repeat (Repete?). Pete and Repeat looked exactly the same but unfortunately Repeat got lost. :( Marvin was named for being such a piggy (from Stavin Marvin on South Park). They also had ANOTHER litter that was kinda feral that I tamed up. There was Streak (for the way she streaked outta that cage when I let her out!) and ****** (short for Mighty ****** who is muscular and a little weird due to his fomer feralness). Streak was the one I was gonna take but she got lost also. :( I felt so awful about this little kitty even though I had only been around her a few weeks. So Mom wanted me to take Stormy (then Missy). At first I didn't want to but I am so glad I did! I had to change her name because Missy was much too feminine a name for her. So I deliberated for awhile and Stormy was just what I came up with! :)
Justin already came with a name since he was a year and a half when I got him. He was named after another kitten that died shortly after being rescued.
A name will come to you if you are patient! Cats sometimes have a way of naming themselves! That said, it doesn't hurt to browse a baby name book.

Ohh! They're so cute! An Teency-Tiny! Ohhhhhhh! Makes me want another kitten hehe! :D

Hehe. Saw Snickers suggested, but what about Snicker Doodle? Hehe. That's cute. :D

I dunno. With Boo, she loved to play Peek-a-Boo and we just shortened it. With Drizzle, we knew we where going to name him Drizzle because we went looking for a cat with gray to name Drizzle. LOL. He has many "names" though - we also call him "Little Guy" and "Mr. Man" and "Mr. Purry Motors" and "Mr. Snuggle Pants" and, when he's sleepy, "Gus-Gus" like from Cinderella? Hehe. His name is Drizzle and the rest are just nicknames for him. Like Boo is Boo-ty like Beuaty, and she's also Boozilla and Boob-a-la. Hehe.

I dunno why, but I keep thinking "Muddy" when I look at him. He looks like he's a white cat that fell in some mud. LOL.

We named Patched because he is well 'Patched'
but it is also the name of a gene involved in early development (i'm a developmental scientist)

so Sonic is named after Sonic hedgehog (also a gene, and the gameboy game was named after this gene - Sonic the hedgedhog)

the protein Patched is actually the receptor for the protein sonic hedgehog
so we thought it quite fitting

has anyone else got themes for naming cats?

we are planning on a 3rd cat next year who will be called Indian after the gene Indian hedgehog

my brothers cat is named Hal after the computer in 2001 (he works in the computer industry)

That is an adorable name! My first two cats are named after mice, Minnie and Jerry.(I am mean arent I !)
Lilly just came to me when I looked at her, I had intended to name her rose because she is completly black with no other color at all. My mom told me a completely black cat is as rare as a black rose. Then when she got home I just decided her name was Lilly.
I am currently nameing Minnie's kittens (although I dont think we will be able to afford to keep any of them  ) I named one kitty Jeanie because of her eyes (like I dream of Jeanie) so far that is as far as Ive gotten. I think if I name them it will be harder to give them away!
I also liked the name Roo for your kitten. That is a cute name.
I saw a book once like a baby name book for animals.. I cant remember where though? Let us know what you decide Ok.
