There are so many innovations for the blind today. They can surf the web,get the news, read letters, even,to some extent, play sports. Narrated movies are,IMO,one of the most brilliant aids for the blind and visually impaired. It's simple. A trained narrator describes the scene to an audience-OR,the narration is added to the soundtrack. I volunteered as a reader on special closed-circuit radio, and it was very rewarding. My mother was legally blind, and while she had help getting done what NEEDED to get done, fun was sometimes hard to come by. I think theaters should have narrated showings, and EVERY dvd should have a narration feature! Maybe someone HERE has the talents of a narrator and doesn't know it!...:idea

I would love to narrarate movies or audiobooks.

The url has slipped my mind but I know there's a website where you can download books that are narrarated by random people who upload to the site. I'm pretty sure it's a free service.

I also have noticed lately that movie theatres have subtitles projected on the wall at the back of the theatre, so if you bring a mirror you can point it at the projector and read the dialoge (sp?) while you watch the movie. I know it's not the best...neat though.
