I have a longhaired indoor cat. She gets hairballs and it is gross. I was giving her hairball treatment treats and then I switched to food (Meow Mix). Later, she got an infected uterus. The vet told me those products are high in magnesium (fish) and that can cause it. The vet said I should switch to Purina and get the urinary track health one. I switched, but I would like to find a natural way to treat her hairballs, but I don't know any. Please offer any advice. I want the hairballs to go away!

Have you tried those hairball pastes that come in a tube? Apparently use can also use unscented petroleum jelly. Give the cat about an inch of the petroleum jelly off of your finger every few days until the hairballs resolve.

I give Sabby tuna-flavored Laxatone. He licks it straight out of the tube. Vaseline works just as well, but don't expect your cat to be thrilled about the taste. :)

An infected uterus? Does that mean she's not spayed?
