We have had a bad time, over the last few months. One of our cats died, suddenly, from Cardiomyopathy and a few weeks ago our old dog became sick and had to be put to sleep. We have one dog and two cats. The dog has been different, he is far more "clingy" and cries for attention a lot, but on the whole, he is fine. My main concern is for one of the cats, Bramble. He has become extreemly nervous. He has to psych himself up to go out of the door in the morning. He won't jump on certain tiles on the patio, he leaps in the air if he sees or hears "things", sometimes the "things" are not even there!!..He just seems a nervous wreck...bless him. Our other cat, Smudge, is a right little rouge...he has been bringing Slow Worms home! As you know, they pretend to be dead, I often pick them up and put them back over the wall. He must of brought one home one day, put it in the conservatory and got bored and left. The Slow Worm thought.."my lucky day" and wriggled into a cupboard...I opened the cupboard and found him wriggling inside...this seems to of been the final straw for poor little Bramble and he seems to be scared of his own shadow...has any one else had such a scardy cat....?...any tips on how to boost his confidence would be much appreciated.

Sorry about your loss, I used to have dogs and they have since passed away or ranaway  But as far as the scaredy cat thing, I dont know if thats something you can change b/c Sugar, whose the girl, is usually not scared of most things (except toy pigs that OINK) hehe, and Twinkie the boy is such a chicken. He will be cautious as he walks by something sometimes and avoid it all the way by going to the other hallway. He gets scared of his own tail sometimes! Just give it time and maybe they wont be scared as much, but if they're a chicken since they were little and still like that most likely it will stay a cautious cat/chicken :p
