I just adopted another kitten and man, he is stinky.

I don't think he has started cleaning himself yet, 'cause he always has a bad smell on his fur. is there any way for me to teach him to clean himself more? I see that he licks his paws, but it doesn't look like he cleans the rest of his body.

also, he knows how to use the litterbox, but he just doesn't bury his treasures... I woudln't mind usually, but it's really stinking up my apt... I tried putting his paw on the litter and brushing it but he just walks away.

any help would be appreciated. thanks.

My Sam smelt a lot better after he got neutered. Give him a bath - that helps you too. In time, he'll learn to cover his poo and groom himself more, especially if he has older kitties to learn from. When he came out of the poo pan smelling really bad, I'd carry him to the sink and wash his paws. He didn't like it much. Now Sam grooms a lot more and covers his poo. That's a few months after he came home with us. That's what happened with my little ones anyway. I hope this helps. :D
