Hello
I am new to this forum I just want some advice and I hope this is the place to get it. I have a maiden queen who is currently kittening as I type - very exciting! She is doing really well and has five so far.
The question I have is how to manage the other male cat I have in the house - it is her brother and we have had them both since kittens. When she started today he was crying at the bottom of the stairs and when I went up she was having the first kitten. Since then I have kept him either outside or dowstairs because i don't know how he will react to a) her and b) the kittens. My insting it to keep them apart, at least until she has finished kittening and had a rest, but I dont want to make him jealous.
Also she is in the bed we have made up for her but we had to bring it to her as she started off in the bathroom and that is where she is now, obviously. I would like to move her downstairs and introduce a kitten pen/box. I don't want to upset her or touch the kittens but i was wondering how much we can move her and/or touch the kittens.
Sorry if I seem a bit vague its all new to me and I promise she is being neutered as soon as the vet give us the go ahead.
Thanks
Helen
