When I post a new thread and someone responds to my post, I am not being notified by email that someone has posted a comment.

I have to go look for my new thread and find out who has posted comments.

Isn't there a way to be notified by email that someone has responded to my new post?

Top right of your initial post, click "thread tools". Then click "subscribe to this thread".

Have you been into the User Control Panel? The link is at the top of the page it says "User CP". You can customize all kinds of settings including automatic notifications for threads you start or post on (that's under "edit options").
