Odd Cat

I have a 1 year old male cat who uses his litter box weird. Instead of squatting to pee he pee's on the side on his litterbox. Is he just spraying? It doesn't have any odor. Also, he is part siamese and is meowing constantly. Is there a reason for this? He has always done this but now at night it is getting annoying. He seems to want us up at all times.
