Was messing around with Paintshop pro and discovered the "painted" effect, where it takes a photo and makes it look painted. Here's an example:

Wow -- I feel honored! And so do Jack and Mia. Anyway -- I agree with you that it's a fun effect. Usually what I do to make it look a little nicer in small detailed areas like the eyes and face, is to use different layers. Then I use smaller brush strokes on the bottom layer, and erase the parts of the top layer that need to look more detailed. Also, do you have photoshop 8? Because there are about a million different types of brush strokes on there -- I love it! I'm working on something currently that I will be sure to link you to when I'm done.
