I can relate to that, Faile! And they are so stubborn about it. Try clapping your hands + no => followed by a nice reward when he comes out. I know they loove the crinkle of the little treat bag  !
The funniest thing that Frosty does is when he climbs up on the kitchen table and while I clap my hands he thinks that hiding behind a pile of newpapers makes him invisible to me

oh gosh Faile ...he's got you playing merry-go-round in his little paw. Try to close your eyes when you see he is so cute, pull yourself together and make him listen. I fell in the same trap ...but I could not accept that Frosty climb on the counters. He is still doing it when I am not around...I don't even have to clap my hands- as soon as he hears me approaching the crime scene he jumps off. Little rascal. I have to be even more consistent.

I have that problem to! Minnie is always on the counters, no matter how many times she gets into trouble she still does it!! The kittens somehow can get up and into one of the kitchen drawers, I cracked up the first time I went to get the cereal and a kitten was curled up into a little ball next to the box.

Moby likes to try to climb in bags (see pic in my profile). However, scarily he also likes to do the same with plastic bags (especially the really crinkly sounding ones).

I have to keep all my bags hidden for fear he will suffocate himself.

When my kitties do something bad I like to push them over onto their stomach and tickle them (Moy hates it).

Oh goodness, my cats used to do that, and Tage, when he knows something is in a cabinet that he wants, he will not give up! (I try to put snacks and stuff away when he's not looking so he wont know to go after them) hee hee.
I have those door latches on my lower cabinets mostly for my daughter but also for my animals, you can buy them in the baby section of things like Wal-Mart, or find them at places like home depot.

Only problem is... they can not get in the cabinets any longer, BUT they will keep opening it and then it slams shut... over and over and over until the sound drives you mad! lol

Hehe. I'm the type who doesn't even mind. I spoil my babies. They are, oddly, well behaved though. If they go somewhere Mom doesn't want them, I tell them to get down, but otherwise, I dun care. They are toooo cute! :)

Sugar is very smart, Twinkie doesn't care I guess... I put the toy on top of the fridge and I thought she didn't see me do it, it'll be on the ground later, if I put it up in the cabinets under the sink, she will paw it open and get it, thats why now I have to hide the toy in my closet with a real door. One time I came home from being out all day, she ransacked the cabinet under the bathroom sink and just walked and knocked over everything after she saw me get something last time....grrr.... she knows to get out when I come but otherwise I guess its cute hehe, as long as nothing is broken or damaged. She doesn't usually do this though just when she think I am hiding something from her! :p

Cats will explore new places including any accessable cabinets. Using a spray bottle should be enough to let them know that you do not want them in there. If you can shut your cabinet doors using a small latch on the inside, flush enough so they cannot get their claws in back of the cabinet door, this should be enough to keep them out of your cabinets. Aside from this, you may have to place a wedge in the handles. I have two large cabinets, one is full of dishes and the other is full of dry food, (crackers, crunchies, pasta, and the like) I have caught a few of my cats in them -whenever I do not close the doors properly. One of the biggest problems is keeping my furkids out of my refrigerator whenever I open the door. :?

my cupboard latches are this style:

and he just pops him open. it's funny to watch him in the kitchen, casually sitting by the door, waiting for you to leave so he can jump in. my boyfriend found him the other day curled up in the wok.
