hi everyone!
i'm from singapore and this is my first posting on cat forum.

just like to tap on everyone's experience here.
wondering if its ok to sterilize cats on heat?
i've heard different stories. some vets will go ahead, some vets wont.
some say its dangerous and more complicated and may result in internal bleeding?? myth?

thank you for all feedback!

Now, maybe I'm wrong about this, but I believe it is safe to spay a female who is currently in heat...it would be best to confirm it with a vet. Dr. Jean on this site would be able to help, too, I'm sure...

Since she'll probably be more or less in heat for the next 6-8 months (at least, according to the development of her insides, though she may not be showing overt heat behavior), you should probably go ahead and have her spayed now. It is a little bit more complicated to spay a cat in heat, but it is a whole lot worse to do it when they're pregnant! So, go for it!

Cheers,
Dr. Jean
