Hi guys, I am really interested in trying Gooms on a raw food diet, but am still looking at options and doing my research at the moment.

The pet stores here stock these products: Raw Food Diets: BARF | Raw Food Diet for Cats - Pets Unleashed

And I was wondering how these may compare to a raw food diet I prepare myself. Would they at least be a backup alternative (eg if for some reason we ran out/didn't have time to prepare the food one night?)

Does one stand out as the better choice?

And lastly, although I know this has been covered many times before here, what would you recommend as the best starter raw food diet? Goom is nearly 4 months old (Burmese).

She currently has Royal Canin or IAMS kitten wet food, and Royal Canin biscuits. She also shares our dinner with us sometimes (e.g. if we have chicken, she gets a couple of scraps).

Thankyou very much! :)

edit: Forgot to mention, I often give her "Pitr Patr" liver treats: http://www.petsunleashed.com.au/Product/pit-r-pat

From the description, it seems great. (Kangaroo!?!) I think this would work for a backup alternative because feeding this food primarily would get very expensive (I think) when feeding a raw diet yourself is surprisingly quite economical.

As for starter foods, I gave my new 12 week old kitten some small chicken breast pieces as well as some small beef heart pieces and she ate them both heartily :)

Thanks for your reply.

Would it be suitable as a complete diet plan? Expense doesn't REALLY bother me, just the healthiness does. And also, did one stand out as the better choice? :)

Thanks!!

Well, we just started trying Gooms out with this food, the Kangaroo variety. It's only $11.50 for a box which, kept in the freezer, will last her three weeks' worth of meals. So far she's eating it fine, doesn't like it as much as the IAMS yet, but still eating plenty. :)

Wow ONLY 11.50 for a box and it will last her three weeks? That's unbelievable! With that price, I should just stop preparing my own raw meals and buy those instead. But they don't sell those here :(
